FireLily started because of my beautiful cousin (and best friend), who’s an indie author. Being part of her journey to publication was such an eye-opener. It showed me firsthand how much love, dedication, and effort indie authors pour into their books. That experience inspired me to create FireLily. I wanted to build something that truly supports and champions indie authors, because they honestly deserve the world.

Through FireLily, I get to cheer them on, share their stories, and help their books find the readers who will love them just as much as I do. The fire lily is more than just a flower—it blooms after wildfire, symbolising resilience, renewal, and the beauty of starting again. That meaning is at the heart of FireLily, and a little nod to my own story too.

Founded by me, Kate, a book-obsessed Aussie with a soft spot for indie stories, FireLily has grown into more than a store—it’s a community. We celebrate indie AU & NZ authors and share their stories in fun, creative ways. From signed books and Blind Date bundles to our cheeky merch line, The Spice Rack, we’re here to make books feel exciting, personal, and a little bit spicy.
